Phone Hunting

My phone's going haywire these days..so thought of chging it.
First, i was considering either the iphone 3G or the Nokia 5800Xpress Music but then i suddenly came across Nokia N97 and fell in love with it..

N97 was great..smooth design or i should say nokia's 1st expensive-looking phone..the touch screen function is great better than 5800 and it has a 5Mp camera.. it is a perfect phone.. it is also called the 'iphone killer'. However, found out frm a few webs tt it might cost about US$700 which is quite a fortune for a phone and will only b released in asia in arnd June 2009..so let's just wait and see till the time comes.

In a Heartbeat ; The Beautiful Journey is a MUST watch musical organized by SMU Komunitas Indonesia (SMUKI)..there'll b another timeslot tmr at 7.30 DBS Auditorium..i've watched today's and it's amazing!! Love it!Each ticket will cost $21..This musical has moved viewers into tears even the Legendary Indonesian Diva, Titiek Puspa..
Synopsis
In a Heartbeat is a tale of one woman’s plight to heal her ailing daughter, guided solely by her faith, perseverance and the kindness of strangers. It is a musical that blends nuances of Indonesian art into a contemporary setting. The story spans across Indonesia and Singapore and is set against sterile hospital wards, cold walls that encase the passions and reason of human nature.

The story begins with the soft heaving of a respirator, steadily breathing for the tiny body that laid motionless on a hospital bed. She is Maria Monique: a seven-and-half year old girl who likes to dress up in her mother’s clothes and loves her grandmother’s hugs. The rhythm was punctuated by the weary beeping of a heart monitor, a contraption that kept an eye over her failing heart. She was diagnosed with a rare bacterial infection that was eating away at her heart.

In a dank hospital in Jakarta, Maria’s heart stopped beating. Amidst the fervent hope of her mother, Natalia, she was miraculously brought to life. But our story takes flight with a doctor’s refusal to operate on Maria. Urged by Adam, her ex-husband, they set off for Singapore on a vicarious plane ride with Maria suspended solely on her life support.

At Mount Elizabeth Hospital, doctors gave Maria a very slim chance of survival. Maria’s condition had worsened. Her lungs were a pulpy mush. They had very little money left. Death seemed like an easy release. Her heart stopped once again. Natalia believed otherwise: that Maria was alive. Amidst the mother’s plaintive calls, the doctors resuscitated her. Maria was dead for one excruciating hour. Miraculously, she was brought to life again.

In that hour, her brain was damaged severely. There was very little possibility that she would make it through alive and even if she did, she might never be the bright and bubbly child she once was. The calculated cost for the operation and hospital were staggering and just too much to bear. But Natalia did not give up. She held on to her belief. She held on to her child and her unswerving hope that Maria would live again. Adam could not bear it and he left her in Singapore.

Alone, she scrounged up ways to get through her days and her dwindling bank account. In Singapore, she found the astonishing kindness of strangers who eased her life with their gestures. She met Sarah, a kindly hospital volunteer who became her friend. She was supported by Arya, her childhood friend who sought ways to fund Maria’s operations. The story of her miracle child, the girl who died twice, leaked to the press and soon it spread. Armed with the kindness of strangers and her faith, Maria had a good chance for making it through. But will she?

Lent

Lent is a 40-day liturgical season tt initiates the most sacred part of Christian year.

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday & concludes on Maundy Thursday.

Sundays are not included in the 40-day count bcos every Sunday is a joyful celebration of our Lord's resurrection.

During Lent, Christians meditate with awe and thanksgiving on the great paschal mystery-- the salvation God won for us sinners by suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
